Knebworth House
Knebworth House and Park mean many things to many people. Here in the 21st Century, Knebworth Park is best known worldwide as Britain's largest music venue, however in the days before rock concerts Knebworth House was known as the home of the Victorian novelist, playwright and politician, Edward Bulwer Lytton.
Music, literature and politics have featured throughout Knebworth's history.
Popular features of the 25 acres now include a maze, the organically run walled kitchen garden, the Gertrude Jekyll Herb Garden and the Dinosaur Trail, where 72 life-sized dinosaurs can be found grazing amongst the rhododendrons and the redwoods. Exploring the woodland paths, children can learn about the T-Rex, the Woolly Mammoth and other fascinating pre-historic creatures.
Every generation of the Lytton family has woven thread in the extraordinary tapestry of cultural and social history that is represented here. As the 19th generation of the Lytton family to live at Knebworth, we invite you to join our extraordinary guest book that stretches all the way from Queen Elizabeth I to Queen Elizabeth II.
