JOINING UP JUSTICE IN GREATER MANCHESTER

Our main job

Is to ensure Greater Manchester's Criminal Justice System (CJS) is effective in bringing offenders to justice, engages the public, inspires confidence, puts the needs of victims at its heart and operates efficient processes.

We do this by

Continuing to reduce crime, ensuring fewer people are victims of crime - especially the most serious crime and those other crimes that the public think should be prioritised.

Our Promises, Our Progress

You can monitor our monthly progress on the following five promises.

We will make a difference in Greater Manchester by:

1. Increasing the number of people who are brought to justice.

2. Providing a service that protects, supports and informs victims and witnesses.

3. Taking away criminals' ill-gotten gains.

4. Improving public public confidence in the fairness and effectiveness of the CJS.

5. Ensuring offenders comply with court orders and these are enforced to ensure public protection, reduced re-offending and confidence in sentencing.
